Information Security Officer, Old Mutual
I am currently Information Security Officer at Old Mutual overseeing information security programme and operations in twelve countries. Prior to this, I held the position of Head of IT risk, security & governance at UAP Old Mutual (East Africa) for one year, IT risk officer at Old Mutual (Kenya) for five years, Information Security Officer at Safaricom for two years, and customer care agent for Safaricom for two years. I have over ten years progressive work experience in Information Security and IT risk management
I am a gold member of ISACA Kenya chapter and a certified CISA, CISM and ISO 27001 Lead Implementer. I served as ISACA Kenya board member from 2014 to 2016 as Certification Coordinator, and I also serve in the CIO East Africa advisory board. I was also a recipient of the Business Daily Top 40 under 40 Women Award in October 2016. I am a regular speaker and panelist at ISACA Kenya conferences, CIO East Africa events, and other local conferences and seminars.
I would love to see more young people, especially women, join the cybersecurity profession. I will continue to engage and mentor them whenever I can. I enjoy hiking, reading and dancing.
